Volunteering for Groups Group opportunities at the Ronald McDonald House often include food and fun! These programs are designed for small groups of 7-12 volunteers. Most group opportunities are for volunteers aged fourteen years or older, unless noted. Group opportunities include: Cooks for Kids is our volunteer meal program. Volunteer groups are needed for each dinner of the week, brunches on weekends and Wednesday barbecues during the summer. Meals can be made in our state-of-the-art community kitchen or prepared at your home and re-warmed here. Cooks for Kids volunteers purchase the food and prepare it, set up a buffet service in our community kitchen and clean up after the meal. To learn more about Cooks For Kids, click here. Classic and Fam Glam. Auction spotters, registration assistants,
set-up/take-down helpers and more are all needed to make these events
run flawlessly. Breakfast Bags is a great project for groups that include youth volunteers under age 14. Breakfast bars, bagels, yogurt, fruit cups, etc. are purchased by the group, and then sorted into individual brown bags that families can grab and go on their way to the hospital in the morning. Decorating the bags before filling them can also be a fun group project for children who are interested in volunteering. Pop Tab Collecting is the simplest way for volunteers of all ages to become involved with the House. The small tabs of aluminum quickly add up to hundreds of pounds that we recycle for significant dollars. Simply collect aluminum tabs (from any can with a tab opener) and drop them off at any local McDonald’s restaurant or at the Ronald McDonald House. Click here for more information on our pop tab program.
